About
Our Rotary
Rotary has 1.4 million volunteers in most countries around the world. We are an inclusive organisation whose members use some of their time and skills giving ‘Service to’ and ‘Making a Difference’ in their local and international communities. Our scale means we really can have an impact – search for our “End Polio Now” project as an example.
Our Club
Cirencester Rotary’s 30+ members are a diverse and inclusive group open to everyone who wishes to give some of their time to helping others in their community.
Our members have in common, an enthusiasm to use their skills and resources for the benefit of others in our community, in the UK and overseas.
Members also enjoy the benefits of business networking, personal development, meeting new friends, hearing inspiring speakers and having fun.

Our Friends
Rotary friends come along and help us at our major community service events in Cirencester. To stay in touch with our events and see what you might like to help at we can send you a copy of our Newsletter.
Our Meetings
We have 1 business meeting a month on the third Wednesday of the month at the RAU (from 6.15-7.15pm) to review and agree proposed projects. We also have a Project Group meeting on the first Friday of the month at Cirencester College (12-1 pm) for anyone interested in helping with the planning and preparation of projects. We also organise regular social and guest speaker events for Members, partners, and Friends.
What we do
Working as a Team and in collaboration with other local Service organisations our Members and Friends raised more than £24,000 last year and donated their time organising and working on a wide range of Community Projects and Activities, some of which are listed here:

- Activius Sports Day – promoting sports activities for children
- Activius Bursaries – sports kit and memberships for children in need
- Adult Reading Support
- Community Meal – to support the community in challenging times
- Practical Ecology – tree planting & parish church garden maintenance
- Youth Development in Cooperation with Secondary Schools
- Mock Trials sponsorship
- Mock Interview training for schools
- Outward Bound Leadership Course Award
- Technology Tournament
- Photographer competition
- Public Speaking competition
International Community Service Activities:
- Generators for Ukraine – 4 sent so far
- Madina – donations to local charity supporting a village in Sierra Leonne
- Shelter Boxes – for disaster relief (av. 2 purchased per yr.)
- Rotary International Charity Support
- Donations to Rotary Foundation (Global Rotary Charity)
- Donations to Rotary End Polio Now Donations – project to eradicate Polio
