This project supports adults to develop their literacy and numeracy skills. It was a surprise to members, the number of adults who rely on coping strategies to get by in life with limited reading and writing skills, or limited numerical ability.

Working with Cirencester College, Rotarians undertook training as literacy and numeracy mentors. We now work through Hope Cirencester to meet one-to-one with adults helping them to read whatever they would like to read, helping them to understand and complete forms and encouraging them to keep trying. The Churn have referred people to our project and some of us are supporting adults in evening classes at Cirencester College.

This project is good for members who have time and like to share their skills to help people. If you are interested in supporting this project, please let us know by completing the contact form
